The workshop
In 1995, a workshop is set up in Phnom Penh with the famous filmmaker Rithy Panh.
The programme
At the end of 1994, in this country still scarred by years of war and oppression, a workshop was created on the initiative of Cambodian filmmaker, Rithy Panh, in partnership with the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Culture in Cambodia. When the workshop ended, an independent establishment was set up: the Cambodia Audiovisual Production Centre, devoted to producing films made by Varan trainees.
