Career
Director
Anne Morin began her career as a freelance journalist, primarily working in Eastern Europe for Francophone media outlets including radio, television, and print. She entered the world of documentary filmmaking by participating in Ateliers Varan in 1998, where she directed the documentary Le bonheur domestique.
Her first documentary feature, Mes toits et Moi, was selected for festivals such as Locarno, Buenos Aires, Créteil, and Trieste in 2003, and was broadcast on Arte. Morin then filmed a series of documentary portraits across several European countries for La Cinquième and Arte. Concurrently, she created graphic designs for Arte and co-directed the 2007 animated short documentary C’est toujours la même histoire, which was featured in festivals like Ottawa, São Paulo, and Leipzig.
In 2013, amidst the conflict in Mali, she produced the web series Comment ça va à Bamako ? and began work on Rififi dans le tiroir, a feature-length documentary completed in 2021. This film received the Jury Prize for Young Audiences at the Ciné Rencontres de Prades, the Best Documentary Award at the New Delhi Film Festival, and was included in the selection for the Semaine du Film Français at the German Cultural Institute.
As a writer, Anne Morin contributes to numerous documentary projects and has been a regular collaborator with Arte for film and project selection for the past five years.
