French director and actor
Born on May 27, 1988, in Nantes, Geoffrey grew up between Singapore, Metz, and Sens before training as an actor at Cours Florent. He graduated with the Best Comedy Actor Award and then founded his own theater company.
In 2011, he moved to Casablanca to teach theater and work in dubbing. Three years later, he settled in Marseille, where he began acting in various TV series and films. Concurrently, he trained in filmmaking with the collective of filmmakers "Kino." His first short film, L’extra-Tragique destin des Moutardes, earned him the Best Screenplay Award at the Festival Premières Marches in Troyes.
The lead role in the film Théo et Hugo dans le même bateau, which won awards at the Berlinale, brought Geoffrey Couët recognition as a revelation at the Festival du Film Romantique de Cabourg.
In 2020, he trained in documentary filmmaking at Ateliers Varan, where he directed Hurler sur les murs. This film had a successful festival run, including competitions at FIPADOC in Biarritz (Young Creation Competition) and FIFE in Evreux.
In the summer of 2022, he directed a documentary about actors at the Festival d’Avignon and then traveled to Kinshasa to shoot the first footage of his debut feature-length documentary, Rentre dans ton pays, produced by Les Films de la Passerelle.
