Hà Lệ Diễm is a Vietnamese filmmaker born in 1991. It was during a training program at Ateliers Varan in Vietnam in 2016 that she directed her short documentary In Beautiful Beds (Giuong Xinh).

A few years later, she finishes her first feature-length documentary, Children of the Mist (2021). The film won numerous awards around the world, among which: the Best Director Award at the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) in 2021, the Clarens Prize for Humanistic Documentary at the 2022 Cinéma du Réel Festival, and was shortlisted for the 2023 Oscars in the “Documentary Feature Films” category.
