Career
French film editor
After a degree in Modern Literature at Paris VII University and a diploma from the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français in 1976, Dominique Pâris spent 15 years in Brazil, where she worked as a sound editor and chief editor on feature films. She was lucky enough to work with great directors of the Cinema Novo, including Leon Hirzman, Carlos Diegues, Arnaldo Jabor, Julio Bressane, Eduardo Escorel, Eduardo Coutinho...
In 1991, returning to France, she continued her work as an editor on fiction films by Flora Gomes, Michèle Rosier, Raul Ruiz, Bianca Conti Rossini and others, and on creative documentaries by Hala Alabdalla, Emmanuelle Franc, Maher Abi-Samra, Catherine Arnaud and others.
Alongside her work as an editor, she has supervised numerous courses at the Ateliers Varan, notably in Paris, but also in Lisbon, Marrakech, Hanoi, Guadeloupe and Kinshasa-RDC, where she supervised the editing of three 52' documentaries for Cinedoc, as well as in Bejaïa and Algiers for Bejaïa Doc and at the International Film School in Cuba, which she visited on several occasions. For some years now she has been working at the INA as part of a master's programme in audiovisual design.
